I wanted to knit my friend Adria something super cute for her birthday, but no matter what I looked at pattern-wise, nothing was appealing to me. Adria is a really unique woman so I wanted whatever I made her to be as unique and awesome as she is. So when you're not finding what you need and you need something quick, whats a knitter to do? CREATE! I decided to make her a cellphone cozy. She has one of those Chocolate LGs, which has the display on the outside, so I hope this will help keep the display from being scratched and whatnot! Plus, its cute and funky- just like Adria! If you knit this, Id love to see a picture of it! Heres the pattern- ENJOY!
A Cozy Little Cellphone Cozy
By Rebecca Hill
Materials:
1 skein Patons Classic Merino Wool (Brown)- Main Color.
Small amounts of 2 more colors for the vine and the flowers.
1 set US 6 straight needles
1 US G/6 crochet hook
1 Tapestry needle
1 button
Optional: sewing needle and coordinating thread.
Gauge for this project is more dependent on your phone size than anything. So measure your phones height and width before beginning the cozy. I used my Motorola Razr for gauge, which this pattern is sized for. But remember that the wool will have a little give, so it will stretch a bit. Or if you make it too big, you could felt it lightly as well.
Pattern:
With the US 6 straight needles and the main color, cast on 30 sts.
Starting with a K row, work in St st for 30 rows. BO.
Fold the piece in half with the right side to the left side. With the garter st side out, seam the side and bottom together.
To make the vine:
Using the crochet hook, chain 45. After the 45th, insert hook into the 39th and sc. BO. The loop will serve as your button hole.
To make the large flower:
Using the crochet hook, chain 10, insert hook into the 1st and sc. Repeat 4 more times. BO.
To make the smaller flower:
Using the crochet hook, chain 5, insert hook into the 1st and sc. Repeat 4 more times. BO.
Finishing:
With body right side out, decide where you will place the flowers. Sew the flowers on using yarn and tapestry needle or sewing needle and thread. For the vine, start by placing the buttonhole over the front of the body where your button will go. Then decide how you will arrange the vine, and sew it on. Sew up any loose ends, place your button and take a picture to send to me!

You don't know me, but I read your blog regularly, so I sort of feel like I know you! I just wanted to let you know how happy I am that your husband will be home soon! I appreciate the sacrifice he, along with your family, is making for us. I hope that doesn't sound trivial. Every night when my husband and I put our son to bed, we remind him that other kids have mom's and dad's who are off training and fighting on our behalf. We pray for them, along with the kids and spouses who are anxiously waiting for them to return. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!
Thank you so much- you have no idea how much that touched me! His return keeps getting pushed back and then pushed up, and back again, so hopefully he will be home soon!!!!
XOXO,
Becca
